dTS offers its services through its three primary cross cutting functional areas across sectors.

 

FUNCTIONAL AREAS

 

§         Gender Plus: dTS integrates gender considerations and the concerns of other under represented groups (including youth, racial/ethnic/tribal minorities, disabled) into policies and programs such that all individuals can contribute to their countries’ development as well as share in the returns.  dTS applies its gender+ model as a cross-cutting variable in sector development and across its service offerings.

§         Human Capital Development: dTS develops strategies, creates systems and builds the knowledge and skills of the work force for increased productivity and competitiveness.

§         Monitoring and Evaluation: dTS develops indicators and performance monitoring plans to assess fulfillment of program objectives by evaluating output and impact while addressing differential impacts on beneficiaries, including both women and men.

 

SECTORS

 

§         Economic Growth: business development services; micro and small and medium enterprise development; market linkages; trade; labor markets.

§         Democracy and Governance:  legal and judicial reform; civil society development; political participation of women; human rights; legal rights (including land tenure, property and inheritance); conflict management and resolution (including women as victims, combatants, and peace builders); anti trafficking (as it relates to human rights, and developing economic alternatives to trafficking).

§         Environment, Energy and Infrastructure: natural resource management; biodiversity; water; energy; environment; power; transportation; telecommunications; information and communications technology; clean technologies; disaster response.

 

SERVICE OFFERINGS

 

§         Policy Development and Research:  academic, applied and analytical research; qualitative and quantitative research; collection and analysis of sex-disaggregated data for strategic planning and accessing target populations, development of topical reports and policy papers.

§         Assessments and Project Design:  conduct field and secondary base-line research and analysis to support and inform program design.

§         Organization and Human Resource Development: strategic planning; organization development; human resource development; program management; administrative and support services; leadership training; diversity (cross cultural communications, harassment).

§         Workforce Development: vocational training; entrepreneurship; female and youth employability.

§         Training: needs and impact assessments; curriculum development; train-the-trainer; training; participant training; orientation visits; study tours.

§         Capacity Building:  strengthen capacity of organizations to achieve program goals, be responsive to stakeholders, and build participant skills.

§         Communications and Outreach:  message development; development of communications campaigns that reaches target populations and provides access to both men and women; facilitate communications across print, web, radio, theatre, and film.

§         Knowledge Management: organization and employment of research, technical writing, communications and the development of innovative technologies.
